Channel Has Audio Description Turned On – Can I Turn This Off?
Audio description is an accessibility feature often added directly by the broadcaster to enhance the viewing experience for visually impaired audiences. Typically, this feature is included on +1 channels, alternate channels, or specific accessibility-focused streams.
Unfortunately, since audio description is usually embedded in the broadcast signal by the source, we are unable to modify or disable it from our end. If you are experiencing audio description on a main channel, such as BBC ONE HD or a similar primary channel, this may be an error.
If this occurs, we recommend the following steps:
- Check Alternate Audio Tracks: Some channels may offer multiple audio tracks. Use your remote to access the audio settings and select a different audio track, if available, to remove the audio description.
- Contact Us: If the issue persists on a primary channel and there are no alternate audio tracks to resolve it, please report the issue to us so we can investigate further.
You can reach us at [email protected]. Please include the channel name, the program affected, and any additional details that could assist in resolving the issue.
We appreciate your understanding and will work to address your concern promptly.
